There have been some sources stating that the 2025 Ford Bronco truck would get some refreshment. The current Bronco we know today was introduced to the public in 2020 as the 2021 model, and the manufacturing process itself wasn’t close to being easy or simple. In fact, it was pretty ‘painful’ and challenging. Many auto experts and sources have stated that buyers shouldn’t be too comfortable with the design of the SUV because mid-cycle update would be coming soon enough.
The Updated Plan
According to some reports (which have somewhat familiar insight to the company’s manufacturing schedule, the Bronco would get the mid cycle updated work for their 2025 model, but information is quite limited. It’s still unclear how the redesign would look like and how extensive the work would be.
The Bronco is basically the answer that Ford provides to compete against Jeep Gladiator. Although many have predicted that it is the Ranger that supposed to do the rivalry, it’s not quite so. The Bronco, with its offroad focused design within the pickup category is designed for those truck enthusiasts having adventure minds. It’s set to compete against Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, Toyota Tacoma (the TRD Pro), and also the Jeep Gladiator. That’s why the Bronco should have the same styling and bodywork as its SUV model – with shorter cargo bed, naturally. You can also expect roof panels and removable doors along the design.
Why the New Bronco Is Crucial?
Ford literally has no more ‘exciting’ rides to sell, except for the Mustang. That’s why the company needs its truck and SUV lineups to crush the sales number. They can only do so by making sure that both lines are super good and plentiful. Although the Bronco may be considered overlapping with the Ranger, it’s designed to be additive and fun. Buyers can expect a midsize truck with a more stylish appearance.
Platform and Powertrain
It shouldn’t be surprising that the 2025 Ford Bronco to share similar underpinnings and frame with the next gen Ranger. The model would be beefy enough, to provide better (and also greater) offroad ability. It seems that the same powertrain from Bronco SUV will also be utilized in the pickup truck, which means that you can expect two powertrain options. There would be an inline four turbocharged unit with 2.3 liter capacity and another V6 twin turbo unit with 2.7 liter capacity.
It’s a sure thing that it would be paired up with auto 10 speed transmission, and hopefully, a manual 7 speed gearbox. The latter, however, hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Price and Release Date
It’s unclear of how much the Bronco would be offered for the public. The Gladiator has a starting price of around $35,000, which is quite a lot for a midsize pickup truck that doesn’t come with some basic features, such as door locks, solid roof, power windows, and mirrors. Naturally, you will have to pay more if you want them to be included in the ride.
This is considered such a hefty ‘fun extra cost’ for a truck with Wrangler’s iconic sense of adventure and (standard) four wheel driving system. The Bronco SUV as well as the pickup, will likely be offered under the tag price from the Jeep. Basically, you can expect more features with fewer expenses from Bronco. But then again, the tag price would be definitely higher than the Ranger.
For the release date, there is no information just yet either. But many sources are sure that it would launch sometime in 2024, most likely after the middle of that year. We should know more about the 2025 Ford Bronco, including the price and launch date, once more information has been provided.
