2025 Chevy Impala SS: Is There Possibility of Coming Back?

People are busy talking about the 2025 Chevy Impala SS, believing that the full size sedan will make it to production. The Impala has been known for its iconic name (and performance), and the SS, especially has managed to create such an impressive quality and performance that makes everyone remembers it. The Impala, unfortunately, had stopped producing since 2020. But with the rumor that it’s going to be available again in 2025, it makes everyone excited. The problem is: Is Impala truly making into the market…again?

The Sad Facts of Impala

In February 2020, Chevy Impala stopped producing. General Motors has a lot of things on their plate. They need to focus on electrifying their entire lineup. Plus, buyers are switching to crossovers and SUVs, making the full size sedan market empty. Basically, the segment for sedan is shrinking drastically, and no one likes it. The year 2020 saw the last of Impala’s rolled off from their Detroit assembly manufacturing plant, and we haven’t seen or heard anything about it anymore.

Impala may have had long history in the making – and it’s quite a patchy one, either. But you have to admit that it had seen its glorious day as one of the top sedan in GM’s lineup. The vehicle has been known as one of the most beautiful vehicle (the four seater type) as well as the fastest one the company has ever built.

General Motors need to make a lot of adjustment, including when they have to put the nameplate in a wagon form. A wagon! But it also shows that there is a possibility that there might be a 2025 model for Impala one day. I mean, if the company is able to make a wagon Impala, they surely will be able to make an electric vehicle with the similar nameplate.

Digital Imagination

What about the rendering images lately, showing off what is claimed to be the 2025 Chevy Impala SS? Well, it’s a creation from a fan, not the official release from the company. Rumor has that the 7th gen of Impala would be rolling in 2025, and it would get some of the modern touchup. Just so you know, the Impala SS won’t be coming together with the (standard) Impala. In fact, the Impala SS is said to be the high performance version of Chevrolet Caprice.

Based on the rendering images, we can have a clear visual of what the modern ride would look like if it ever makes it into production. It would have a handsome style (from mid 90s vibe) that is paired with tough powertrain, with its V8 unit with 5.7 liter capacity as the standard unit. If the unit is going to be made, loyal fans would have fun driving it around.

Design and Style

As it was mentioned before, the car comes with general silhouette of the Impala, mixed up with modern techs like LED daytime running lights and also headlights. You can also expect a big front air intake and side skirts. The air intake is inspired from Camaro ZL1 grille design. There would also a Chevy signatural bowtie ‘flowtie’ and also allow wheels. From the rendering images, the car comes with modern sheet metal and also styles on the doors and side panels.

Powertrain and Performance

Many auto enthusiasts imagine that the upcoming Impala SS would be coming with similar unit as Camaro ZL1. It means that it would come with V8 supercharged unit with 6.2 liter capacity that is able to generate 650 hp and 650 Nm of torque, paired up with manual 6 speed transmission and also auto 10 speed transmission. It’s likely that real wheel driving system would be the standard feature.

We aren’t really sure whether Impala SS would be made into production again. But if there is any update or even rumor about its 2025 Chevy Impala SS, we will provide you with more info.
