There is no confirmation about 2025 Ford Expedition. Rumor has it that the 2024 model would be getting a fresh redesigned work, but then other sources claim that such a work would be due for the 2025 model. Since Ford had tweaked a refreshed model for the 2022 Expedition, it’s likely that the 2024 model would also get a full redesign work. But then again, it’s unclear whether the company is focusing on the 2024 model or the 2025 one.
The Updated Plan
For the upcoming redesigned purpose, it seems that the SUV has shared the same styling as the latest F-150 (pickup) truck. In case you don’t know it, the new F-150 has also undergone a redesigned work. But it’s still a possibility – not really certain or set.
The big SUV currently comes with a square grille having 2 trim pieces that are running through it. The grille also spans its full width within the front end. Those trim pieces split the headlights, housing the daytime running lights (with the C-shaped model). On the back, the SUV has square taillights and also an (upright) rear end having D-pillar with its blacked out mode.
During the 2022 refreshed work, the Expedition received new interior lay out and appearance, focusing on the tech upgrade. But there is a possibility that the upcoming model would have new dashboard, updated instrument cluster, and updated center console. In the event the SUV is constructed with a new (and updated) platform, there is a possibility that the SUV would have more space, when compared to the current one. The Expedition is said to come with regular and also extended (wheelbase) models.
Powertrain and Performance
Considering that Ford is getting prepared for electrification, it’s highly likely that the 2025 Ford Expedition would include hybrid powertrain. The hybrid unit from F-150 is the most sensible option because it includes a V6 twin turbo unit with 3.5 liter capacity that is paired up with one electric motor, able to generate 430 hp and also 570 Nm of torque. Hopefully, the company would be using the similar powertrain layout and arrangement, so it can deliver 380 hp and 440 Nm of torque.
Improved Technology
The company is now offering its sophisticated and hands free technology (the driver assist technology known as BlueCruise) for the Expedition. When it comes to the safety features, you can expect lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and auto emergency braking as the standard features. There other available features including lane centering assist, surround view parking camera, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control.
Release Date and Price
Since Ford hasn’t provided any information about their latest Expedition manufacturing process, and the expected redesigned project, we can’t really tell more about the upcoming planning. Many auto enthusiasts predict that it may come in 2024 although the exact date is still unclear. The information about the price won’t be released until it’s close to the launch date, so there is no point looking for one for now. With the full redesigned planning, it would be logical that buyers can expect higher price range than the current model. Just so you know, the current Expedition has a starting price of around $57,000 – and it already includes destination.
Expedition has a tough job because many of its rivals have undergone redesigned project; or they may have been designed as the all new models. The big SUV would be competing against GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe, Toyota Sequoia, and Jeep Wagoneer. That’s why the company needs to be serious about improving their Expedition.
