Is there going to be a 2025 Chevy Suburban? The nameplate seems to ‘disappear’ from the company’s lineup since 2021, and other names seem to be the main highlight of the company’s upcoming production. It’s unclear what happens to the car, but many have predicted that the company is just too busy with their latest manufacturing process, forcing them to lack of focus more some nameplates. 2025 Model Year?
It’s unclear about the 2025 model because some people and sources have been talking about 2024 model. But then again, some people have stated that it’s possible that the 2025 Chevy Suburban is actually the 2024 model. Rumor has it that the 2024 model would be delayed, resulting the model year to come out as the 2025 model instead of the 2024 model year. Is the rumor true? We aren’t really sure about it, so the best thing to do is to wait and see.
About the Suburban
Suburban has been known as one of the strongest and also the toughest SUV with all the bells and whistles. They want to improve the SUV’s best performance for the upcoming model, including offering hybrid and possible pure electric powertrain.
There have been some prototype rides being spotted on the net, which is suspected to be the upcoming 2024 model, but it’s only a prediction because there is nothing solid up for now. It’s pretty logical if the company wants to keep the Suburban, considering that it’s one of the longest lasting models in the segment.
The Updated Plan
Rumor has it that the company is planning on bringing the HD back. Tim Herrick, the VP of the global product programs has somewhat provided a hint that their 2025 Chevy Suburban would be the upgraded version. The company believes that their X-gen architecture is somewhat able to accommodate the heavy duty and crane focused model. But again, there is no official confirmation so we can only guess.
Powertrain and Performance
There is no information about the powertrain for 2025 model year. However, if we take a look at Suburban 2023, we can see 3 powertrain options. It’s possible that Suburban would be running on those machines and another hybrid or electric power. The first one is the V8 unit with 5.3 liter capacity, delivering 355 hp and 383 Nm of torque. The second one is a V8 of 6.2 liter unit generating 420 hp and 460 Nm of torque, and the last one would be the inline six turbodiesel unit with 3.0 liter capacity, delivering 277 hp and 460 Nm of torque. All of them would be matched with auto 10 speed transmission with rear wheel driving system. There is also an optional of four wheel driving system for better traction.
It’s predicted that the new Suburban should have better power outcome, along with better fuel economy. The 2023 model has different fuel economy output. The V8 5.3 liter unit has 15 mpg for the city and 20 mpg for the highway, while the V8 with 6.2 liter has only 14 mpg for the city and 20 mpg for the highway. The turbodiesel unit has the best one with 21 mpg for the city and 27 mpg for the highway. Many have expected that the new Suburban should have an improved fuel economy – far better than the 2023 model year.
Price and Release Date
We don’t know all of these elements either, but some say that the starting price may start from around $55,000 up to $77,000. We should know more about 2025 Chevy Suburban when the info is available.
