2025 Chevy Silverado 1500: What’s Coming Next?

The 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 may be the last production model for the light duty truck, at least for the current generation. After the 2025 model, the Silverado 1500 would be replacing the current model with the electrified type. The 2025 model is meant to ‘usher’ the next gen (full size) truck with the ICE so that they can be adjusted to the new electrified version.

The General Scheme

The new Silverado 1500 would be constructed at the company’s Fort Wayne manufacturing plant in Fort Wayne, located in Indiana. It would also be made at Oshawa manufacturing plant in Canada and also the Silao plant in Mexico. The body style would be the light duty truck, using front engine (longitudinal) layout. From the three manufacturing plants, the Oshawa plant is the only plant that makes Silverado exclusively, for both heavy and light duty trucks.

Price and Release Date

The next gen Silverado would be released in around 2025 with the information about the price range is still unknown. The production is predicted to start in 2024, possibly in the third quarter; it’s possible that it’s even starting within the fourth quarter. Rumor has it that the new Silverado may have a starting price of around $117,000, while availability may start from fall 2024.

The current Silverado debuted in 2018 as the 2019 model, and it got a mild facelift touchup in 2023. Many have expected that the 2019 model will retain some of its basic features, but with new rear and also front fascias and fresh (sheet) metal fender. The new 2023 Silverado has new front end, with a more prominent side body design and somewhat squarer design feature.

What about the New 2025 Model

Many have believed that the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 would be the last one with the combustion engines, considering that there have been fuss about the Silverado EV and Sierra EV. According to Mark Reuss, the president of GM, they will still sell the conventional trucks even when the company is focusing on the electric technology. The company believes that each model has its own target market, and they want to make sure that they can meet the buyers’ demands.

The vehicle with mid cycle upgrades happening to Sierra and Silverado 1500 would roll out in 2022. Around 5.8% of the vehicle would have greenhouse reduction technology, which is meant to improve efficiency and function. Considering that F-150 is hybridizing its lineup, many people believe that General Motors would hybridize their 2025 model. There is no confirmation about it and it’s still early to say. We should wait for the company to release their official updates.
