It’s unclear what Toyota has in store for its 2025 Toyota bZ considering that there is very limited and little information about it ever released or made available to the public. Up until now, it’s only known that Toyota has the plan to make five bZ’s models before 2026, so it’s likely a good thing as we can expect the 2025 model to be available soon. However, with very limited information, it’s difficult to really pinpoint what’s the auto manufacturer has in mind. We can only gather some info here and there and compile it into one solid story, hopefully.
Toyota’s Future Plan
Toyota has confirmed that they are going to manufacture the upcoming models (all of them are within all-electric types) under the sub-brand bZ for the European market. In fact, the auto manufacturer has decided that they are going to make 5 new ‘bZ’ type before 2026, besides the already existing (midsize) SUV bZ4X.
The first electric model would be the small ride, which likely debut in 2023. According to Matt Harrison, the head of Toyota Motor Europe, the company has committed themselves to making battery electric cars. This is another reason why they are serious about developing the bZ nameplate. Although the company hasn’t said anything about this small car, a reliable source stated that this EV would be coming as an SUV. It’s possible that it would be inspired by the Small Crossover Concept bZ, which the company previewed about a year ago in Tokyo.
Other Released Models
Besides that small crossover, the next bZ lineup would also cover compact crossovers and SUVs, along with other 3 bigger models. In the meanwhile, the bZ would be offered in the global scale, not limited to European market only.
During Brussels event, Toyota showcased the Compact SUV concept which debuted during Los Angeles Motor Show, taking place in November. According to Toyota, the car would have 178.6 inches in length, 74.3 inches in width, and 61.4 inches in height. It means that the new 2025 Toyota bZ would be a bit shorter than the available bZ4X, which has a total length of 184.6 inches, from bumper to bumper.
According to a study design preview, it’s expected that the EV production for the compact SUV sector has been expected, and it should launch in 2025. This information comes from someone who is familiar with the company’s production plan and manufacturing schedule. Rumor has it that this model would be coming as a bZ3X. This would likely launch in 2024 (most likely after the middle of the year) or the beginning of the 2025.
The Remaining Three
What about the other three models? The third model seems to be set in motion. It seems that Toyota will release a bigger vehicle that is slightly bigger than the (midsize) bZ4X. During last year’s event in Tokyo, Toyota previewed their so-called bZ Large SUV. It’s possible that this would be the biggest vehicle made by Toyota when it makes it into production.
The fourth model would likely also come as the biggest pickup truck that the company has ever made. This electric pickup would be heavy and big, for sure, but there is no information about it. None of these models would be manufactured in Europe.
Final Words
Toyota has its own goal for production and sales, and it includes the European market. They want to have 50% of its all-electric sales before 2030 taking place in European market, and it includes Russia, Israel, Turkey, and some Eurasian countries. Before 2025 ends, Toyota wants to have 10% of sales from its European market, and it should be full electric types. Around 80% of them should be coming from plug in hybrid and also hybrid models. We should wait for further updates about 2025 Toyota bZ.
