The upcoming 2025 Chevy Traverse is said to come with better performance and more solid performance. The one we know currently on the market made the debut in 2018. Although Traverse is a pretty solid ride, a lot of auto enthusiasts claim that it’s quite awkward and very average. Although the SUV has already got some updates, the results are still disappointing. That’s why many are pretty expectant of what the 2025 Traverse would look like.
The Updated Plan
Although there is no exact planning about the new Traverse, there have been some spyshots concerning their updated release. Besides the changes happening to the exterior area and the updated interior cabin (and the new features and technologies), there would also be some powertrain refreshment and updates.
Expect the possibility of PHEV variants, with premium features for the cabin. There is also a new body style, coming as the full size (luxury) crossover having three seating rows and four doors layout. The Traverse would be using the VSS-F platform, which has been used for other GM front drive crossovers and vehicles.
Design and Style
The suspected 2025 Chevy Traverse crossover has been spotted in Michigan, displaying a tougher looking style and more solid stance. It’s quite easy to recognize it as the Traverse because the prototype vehicle is coming with its unique C-pillar design (to connect the side windows) and high beltline. The front area looks somewhat bigger with wider face having split grille and sharper lines.
There is a possibility of shorter wheelbase, which is meant to differentiate it from the Tahoe. There should be enough space for the cabin, including the cabin. Expect it to be comfortable and plush. We should know more once more information is available.
Powertrain and Performance
There have been expectations that the 2025 Chevy Traverse would be coming with these engine options:
- A new inline four turbo unit with 2.0 liter capacity that is paired with auto Start/Stop function that will replace the gas turbo GM unit with 2.0 liter capacity
- A V6 unit with 3.6 liter capacity paired up with auto Start/Stop function, which is the upgrade version of gas turbo 2.0 liter capacity
- The possibility of gas V6 twin turbo unit with 3.0 liter capacity in the performance variant
- A new turbo diesel unit for certain markets
- The possibility of electric PHEV with gas and electric combo
- A possibility of pure battery and electric type
Many have expected that the new Traverse would be coming with the new auto 9 speed transmission. If there would be electric and PHEV models, they will have their own arrangements for the powertrains. Some sources state that there is a big chance that the new Traverse would be running on V6 unit with 3.6 liter capacity that delivers 310 hp and 266 Nm of torque, with the supercharger and turbocharger being absent. If this is true, then Traverse would be a muscular and solid SUVs.
Release Date and Price
Although there is no information about the price increase for the new Traverse, many have predicted that there would be a price bump. Speculation states that the new Traverse may start from around $35,000, so there would be enough space between the Traverse and the (rumored) Blazer.
Up until now, there is no definite information about where the next Traverse would be manufactured. But if we take a look at the previous generations (the first and second), they were made at the GM Lansing Delta (Township) manufacturing plant located in Michigan. It’s highly likely that the Traverse may be manufactured there too.
It’s predicted that the new 2025 Chevy Traverse may be available within the next fall, but it’s unclear whether it would be the 2023 or the 2024 (many predicted that it will happen in 2024), as the 2025 model.
