2025 BMW 3 Series and Possibility of Electrified Version

Will the upcoming 2025 BMW 3 Series be coming with electrified technology? There has been a rumor about the auto maker developing the electric technology for their 3 Series lineup. The company is said to introduce their next gen 3 Series, being packed with electric powertrain and see how it comes out. And there have been several images of what the 3 Series would look like if it ever makes it into production.

The Updated Plan

The company has made a confirmation that they are going to debut a new architecture, known as Neue Klasse. This one would be used for the next gen electric lineup, including the 3 Series sedan, which will likely use the i3 badge.

The company revealed their so-called i Vision Dee concept during CES (Consumer Electronics Show), which is believed to preview the new sedan’s style. And there is a digital artist, Theottle, that created digital images of what car may look like when it comes to production.

The CES concept ride has followed the i Vision Circular show in 2021 showing the possible new design for the Beemer. It seems that the company is willing to trade their bold features and big grilles for a simple and minimalist look, known as the reductive design.

The Rendering Images

There have been several digital rendering images of what the 2025 BMW 3 Series sedan may look like, including with the electrified technology. And if the company is serious enough about developing one, expect it to be ready at dealerships in 2025.

The reimagined design would focus on (dual) front kidney grilles that are basically blanked off, becoming the styling features. The quad circular headlights, on the other hand, become the diagonal stripes. Based on the render made by Theottle, the i Vision Dee design still remains, but he also adds up door handles, mirrors, and also license plates, along with new rear bumper, air intake on the front (for battery cooling), and also production wheels.

There would be (thick) black trim surrounding the side windows (which also shown in the concept), but it would be toned down a bit. You can see the same design on i Vision Circular concept, which may hint that it could be the key feature for future cars made by Beemer.

Powertrain and Performance

It’s not clear whether the current petrol unit would stay or even replaced by the electric powertrain. But reports have shown that the new cars may have battery packs, and they range from 75 kWh and 150 kWh or even between 200 kWh and 1000 kWh. Besides supporting super fast charging time, it is also able to cover 600 kilometers of distance.

The new models are supposed to run on single motor with rear wheel driving system. But it’s also possible to have dual motor with all wheel driving system. The performance M variants may have four motors with one motor runs for every wheel. The batteries adopt the same design to the Tesla, meaning that the cells are packed to cylindrical containers having 46mm of diameter.

It should be available in 2025, or in 2026 if there are delays or obstructions. So, if you want to know more about 2025 BMW 3 Series, you should wait for official release.
