2025 Infiniti QX80 Coming as the Bigger Model for the Third Gen

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is dubbed as the worthy rival to Caddy Escalade because of the improved performance and the quality outcome. As a luxury SUV, the QX80 has a lot of burden, especially when it’s set to be the one to increase sales numbers. Not only it’s a possible competitor to Escalade, but it’s possible that it becomes an Infiniti crossover SUV.

About the New QX80 SUV

The hype about the QX80 is increasing as the testing mule has been spotted doing a testing stage with camo. From the look of it, it’s possible that new (and modern) style will be introduced, together with new power. The company hasn’t provided any details about their improvement on Infiniti, but we can always guess, can’t we?

Design and Proportion

Despite the camo, the vehicle is obviously large, solid, and upright. From the dimension, it should have no issue accommodating 7, even up to 8, people comfortably. The camo is pretty tight unless for some areas and sectors, including the restyled rear and front fascias, D-pillars that look thinner, flush and good door handles, and also revised lighting.

Although we don’t know much about the QX80 future updates, it’s possible that the 2025 Infiniti QX80 would be coming with a different layout and structure. Maybe the future QX80 would no longer using the body on frame layout, but a crossover platform instead. In the luxury SUV market, the QX80 is set to compete against the Escalade as well as Lexus LX, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and Lincoln Navigator.

The Big Size

Infiniti has released their Monograph Concept in 2017 that aimed to provide the facelift of the current model. However, it seemed that they have been prepared for the QX80’s future design. The new Monograph Concept for QX80 was dated to launch in March, but it has been delayed and planned to finally launch this 2023’s summer.

Seen from the prototype spotted on the road, it seems that the third gen of QX80 would be coming with humongous stance. It’s said that it comes with promising proportions and somewhat gigantic dimension. The design is muscular with exclusive touch and tough stance. With the combo of imposing (mesh) grille and split tier headlamps (come in pair), the entire look is nice with segmented DRLs o the top area and lowered bumper.

The hood is ‘decorated’ with solid and serious creases, but the classic aesthetic appeal is still maintained, thanks to the chrome trim and boxy glasshouse. On the back, the design is also improved with the upright tailgate that separates sheet and glass metal, while at the same time, the LED taillights offer a somewhat segmented and unique details.

Powertrain and Performance

There is no exact information about the powertrain for the future QX80, but the current one is running on V8 naturally aspirated unit with 5.6 liter capacity that is able to generate 400 hp and 413 Nm of torque. It’s paired up with auto 7 speed transmission. Some auto enthusiasts are hoping that the company would consider using the V6 unit with hybrid system and turbocharged technology. What about a completely electric QX80? There is always a possibility, but there is no update for now.

Rumor has it that the company is thinking about using a V6 twin turbocharged unit with 3.5 liter capacity that is paired up with 48V hybrid system. It should be paired up with auto 9 speed transmission and four wheels driving system. The all electric model may use the battery pack (100 kWh) that is able to cover 300 miles of distance. But because the company hasn’t confirmed anything, we can’t really be sure that it would be offered. Since there is no further info, we should know more about 2025 Infiniti QX80 once further details have been ready.
