The 2025 Volkswagen Bus has been scheduled to finally arrive in the US market, following the launch already taking place in the European market. The bus would bring the retro and ‘groovy’ vibe with its design. You can tell from its appearance that it’s meant to accommodate a lot of passengers, but this time with a touch of modernity and sophistication. The Bus for the American segment is said to be bigger and more spacious than its sibling for the European area.
The Updated Plan
The new Bus is claimed to have better battery capacity, impressive power, and better size when compared to its European sibling. This electric Bus comes with three row layout, which is possibly done because of the extra 10 inches length for the entire dimension. This vehicle is designed to accommodate 7 people comfortably. In terms of features or specs, there is not much special stuff you can find here. All of the same features can be found in a full size SUV, so the Bus doesn’t really offer something new.
However, the third row is amazingly roomy. It’s vast and wide, and even tall passengers can fit in easily into the third row and enjoy the whole ride comfortably. Not to mention that the rear seats can be folded quite easily, but you can actually remove them too if you like it. It would add up the cabin space for luggage and cargo.
Powertrain and Performance
This Bus is packed with rear motor. The European Bus gets a rear motor that can generate 201 hp ad 229 Nm of torque, while the American Bus gets the same rear motor churning up 282 hp and 406 Nm of torque. So, it’s better and more promising. The Bus is claimed to be able to reach 100 kilometers per hour in around 10.2 seconds. Not bad for a chunky Bus.
However, the American Bus gets an extra option involving a second motor, being placed on the front axle. As a result, you get an all wheel driving system instead of the rear wheel. The output is ‘only’ 330 hp, but it’s somewhat punchy for a Bus.
Design and Appearance
The look of the 2025 Volkswagen Bus may look retro and vintage. But it’s too bad that the color option isn’t very attractive. Instead of the vibrant and cute orange and yellow hues, the Bus comes with light gray and orange-ish accents. The color scheme is not so promising, but if you can look past the boring colors and focus on the good stuff, then you would be happy having this one.
But VW seems to make up what they lack in color with handy (and unique) features scattered around the vehicle. You can find the sunroof that will bring in more sunlight and natural light into the Bus. There is also sliding window (with power operation), a tribute that VW makes for the original Bus.
Price and Release Date
The launch date is expected to happen next year although there hasn’t been any official confirmation about it. The information about the price hasn’t been released just yet either, but be ready to spend quite a lot. This Bus is considered a premium ride. Plus, it comes with spacious layout and electric power. It’s certainly not going to be cheap. Rumor has it that it may start from around $40,000, but we can’t be sure until official release is done.
But expect premium features too, such as 8 ports for USB-C, driver assistance features, wireless charging, and heated second row. The front row seats are also heated, but they are also ventilated, adjustable, and can be used for massaging. Expect to get heated steering wheel too. We should wait for further confirmation and release, which may likely happen before 2025 Volkswagen Bus is finally launched sometime next year.
