Sources have mentioned and stated that Ford is seriously preparing their 2025 Ford Ranger for the upcoming release. This midsize truck would be a part of the family, offering electric power. For those who want to have green and ‘clean’ energy, this electric truck would be ideal. Not to mention that Ford has planned out to include electric Maverick into the lineup too, so everything should be interesting.
About the New Ranger Electric
It’s safe to say that this electric 2025 Ford Ranger midsize vehicle is designed as the ‘younger brother’ of the F-150 Lightning, which is the full size version. With this midsize addition, the F-Series family lineup would be expanding quite widely, and having an electric vehicle is definitely a cool thing.
This new midsize ride is designed to meet the market’s demand. It’s quite surprising that F-150 Lightning has caught everyone’s heart, resulting in high spike of demand. However, the company isn’t entirely ready for meeting such a supply, because they haven’t thought of such crazy high demand. And this is when they came up with an idea of having another electric truck. The company believes that when the demand in high in a certain ‘mine gold’, there is a chance to have another mine gold created. And this is the reason why they decide to make another electric ride.
Platform and Construction
The company has only confirmed that they are making another electric truck, but they aren’t sharing the details for now. Besides adding the EV to the lineup, they basically rule out the electric version of the F-250, F-350, and also F-450 – at least for now. They also state that the new truck would be completely different from the next generation Lightning, meaning that they are thinking about smaller ride.
They have recently dealt with trademark filings for Ranger Lightning and Maverick Lightning, and it may provide us with some info and hints. It seems logical that Ford is planning out their next move with the Lightning. After all, a fresh EV is a great way to gain popularity. If everything goes as planned, the new and next generation of electric truck would be manufactured in Stanton (in Tennesse) which is the new manufacturing plant. The same plant is going to be used to make the Lightning next generation.
What about the Raptor, which is rumored to come with electric platform? There is always a possibility. After all, with the idea that it can generate 775 Nm of torque and 580 hp, it would be impossible for Ford to miss it out. But this production will likely take place after the small trucks have been released.
Along with the trademark filing and also speculative work, rumor has it that Ford is also planning out electric Maverick. It would be designed as a car-based truck with lifestyle purpose, currently offered as a hybrid unit. But then again, if Ford is going to change the Maverick, they will have to do some extra work, because the platform is different from the Ranger. The F-Series family, keep in mind, comes with body on frame and full size platform, which is not the same as the Maverick. But then again, we aren’t really sure about it.
Price and Release Date
Again, information is very limited and scarce, but the price is predicted to start from around $35,000. The sales may happen in 2025 although exact date is still unknown. Does it mean that Ford is going to make their new electric Ranger affordable? We aren’t really sure about it. We should know more about 2025 Ford Ranger once more complete information is available.
