The upcoming 2025 BMW X3 is said to undergo redesigned work in 2024 because it would be launched (and created) as the 2025 model. This model may likely the last SUV (from Beemer) that runs on gas power. According to some sources, this model would be a PHEV model with its electric capacity able to cover 62 miles of area.
The Updated Plan
The upcoming 2025 model would be the fourth gen of the X3, expected to be ready and available within the middle of 2024. The third gen was revealed in 2017 (for the 2018 model). After 6 years in the production, it’s due time for redesigned work. Some of the spy photos have been around on the net, especially on social media.
If the spy shots are showing the indication, it seems that the new front grille would be longer. At least it would be longer than the current one, and it would also incorporate new headlights. In short, expect the new X3 to look different from the diesel or gas powered model. And it would be coming as plug in hybrid powertrain, to ‘introduce’ the buyers to the future world of electrification.
Design and Style
As it was said before, the X3 is due for a redesigned work although it has got a refreshed touchup back then in 2022 (for the 2023 model). A redesigned project means that the interior and exterior would be completely changed. Aside from the new headlights and grille, there would also be bigger multimedia control and also digital instrument cluster as a part of the features. Some features would also be made as the standard techs, including glow exterior, iDrive 8, ADAS function, and also (passive) keyless entry.
Further details are still shady, but considering that the new X3 is meant to deliver new ‘vibe’ and new standard for Beemer, you can expect more for the interior cabin. Better materials, improved ambiance, and more sophisticated technologies should be expected.
Powertrain and Performance
Details about the powertrain haven’t been revealed either, but many have predicted that it would be running on four cylinder unit of 2.0 liter capacity. But there is also a possibility that it may run on six cylinder unit with 3.0 liter capacity that would be paired with PHEV or mild hybrid engine. The current 2023 model only comes with one trim having PHEV for the all wheel driving system xDrive 30i. but the upcoming X3 is said to have 3 different variants of PHEV: one PHEV would be coming with rear wheel driving system and the other two would be coming with all wheel driving system.
Price and Release Date
There is no official confirmation about the new launch, but the 2025 BMW X3 should be revealed within the early 2024, while deliver and availability will start from the second half of the same year. For US market, it’s possible that the launch will take place by the end of 2024. It’s difficult to predict what Beemer has in store since they haven’t provided anything about their next production plan.
There hasn’t been any information about the price either. But many auto enthusiasts have predicted and speculated that it may start from around $47,000 for the base trim and it may reach more than $50,000 for the higher trim level.
If we take a look at the current X3 2023, it is coming in 3 different levels. The base is sDrive30i, start from around $46,400, while the higher trim is xDrive30i is priced at around $48,400. The top trim is the M40i and it’s sold at around $61,000. Will the price change for the 2025 BMW X3? We can’t really tell for sure as we need to wait for official confirmation.
