It seems that GM has already had their own planning for the upcoming 2025 GMC Acadia. Acadia has already had its own reputation when it comes to big ride, and it seems that the company doesn’t have any planning to change the public’s mind or opinion. The Updated Plan
General Motors has recently made an official confirmation about their upcoming Acadia. According to them, the next gen Acadia would definitely add some extra pounds and grow significantly in design. There had been a rumor about the bigger version of Acadia for the upcoming model, and it seems that it turns out to be true.
In August 2020, there had been a report that the third gen Acadia would be coming as an entirely full size crossover, which would definitely look bigger when compared to the current model (which is included in the second gen release) coming in the midsize planning.
In case you forget the Acadia’s timeline, the first gen Acadia debuted in 2007. At that time, it was coming as a 3 row model, which means that it’s a full size vehicle. The second gen Acadia launched in 2016, but it came as a downside transformation. From a full size, it became a midsize vehicle. But it seems that General Motors is planning on returning the nameplate to its full size layout.
What Happens Next?
It should be interesting to see what Acadia will look alike after the company has confirmed that the third gen would be bigger than the second gen. Mark Reuss, the GM President, has stated the company’s plan for the future production of Acadia. They are going to build Acadia in a different size, along with their upcoming Traverse. The new one is going to be bigger, which is considered a significant transformation not only for the car, but also for the company. They are aware of market’s requirements, and they want to deliver the required outcome.
According to Reuss, the new Acadia would be somewhat designed as a premium ride. It would be a super handsome premium ride, coming with 3 row layout that feels somewhat professional without compromising comfort.
Platform and Construction
The new Acadia would be coming with new design interior and revised exterior style. But those aren’t the only changes happening to the Acadia as it would be constructed on a modified platform version with GM C1 type, or even the C1-2. With the new platform, the changes would be immense. The company may be able to do a lot of improvements and updates.
Besides the exterior updates, the interior cabin will have improved onboard technologies and features, covering the Super Cruise semi auto driving assist feature, which basically confirms the leaked spy shot pictures showing the possibility of such technologies.
Powertrain and Performance
When it comes to powertrain, the upcoming 2025 GMC Acadia may have different options. It’s predicted that the V6 gas naturally aspirated unit with 3.6 liter capacity would be offered, along with inline four gas turbocharged unit of 2.0 liter capacity, or even the inline four gas turbocharged unit with 2.7 liter capacity. The manufacturing process would take place in Lansing Delta Township manufacturing plant, located in Michigan. The Acadia would be manufactured together with Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse.
There is no information about the price or the exact release date. However, it’s predicted that it may be ready in around 2024; most likely after the middle of the year. We should know about 2025 GMC Acadia once more information is ready.
