The suspected 2025 Audi Q5 has been spotted with its camo prototype, designed to keep the sparks alive for the crossover. After all, the company wants to move to the fully electric vehicle fast, but they will try their best to deliver the last ICE Q5 for the last time. Naturally, because they want to deliver the last one, they tried to make it as best as possible.
About the Q5
The Q5 has been known (and popular for) as this high riding and premium crossover that sells well within the company’s lineup. However, the next gen Q5 still gets some updates to keep the design fresh and accommodating. Not to mention that there have been several images showing the suspected prototype going through a testing stage. The car looks handsome (despite the camo) and it should be good-looking if Audi wants to maintain its current success.
The Updated Plan
As it was mentioned before, this would be the last Q5 model that has internal combustion unit before the company focus completely on battery electric powertrain. There would be a bit alternative to the powertrain, technology, and also style.
Design and Appearance
Exterior appearance has become one of the major appeals of the vehicle, so it’s only logical if Audi wants to maintain the good looks. The company wants to create a simple and attractive style, but with inoffensive manner. The front end has this muscular visual effect, thanks to the single frame grille that is flanked by the (bold) vertical side intakes. With the accompaniment of the LED wedge effect headlights, the entire look seems simple but elegant and attractive. Don’t expect the bizarre looking split headlights.
The Interior Cabin
Not only the cabin would be comfortable and spacious, but it would also be ‘smart’. It’s packed with the latest technology, including bigger screens and more sophisticated technology. It will share almost the same interior look to the e-tron GT and A4. To highlight the luxury craftsmanship, the car would incorporate flush (mount) touch display and futuristic lines. Expect more features and technologies to be available and offered for the new Q5.
Powertrain and Performance
The 2025 Audi Q5 would be constructed with MLB Evo platform, but already a revised one. This vehicle is sharing platform with the B10 A4, which means that it’s likely sharing the same powertrain layout. The Q5 would be coming with mild hybrid 48V diesel and also petrol units, and also a plug in hybrid technology. The mild (hybrid) petrol would be running on TFSI unit of 2.0 liter capacity that is paired up with auto dual clutch 7 speed gearbox, with all wheels driving system.
In the meantime, the plug in hybrid unit combines inline four unit of 2.0 liter capacity with an electric motor that generates 141 hp, and also 11.3 kWh li-ion battery, so that it can generate a total output of 266 kW or 362 hp. It’s just too bad that there won’t be an RS variant (which can compete against the Beemer X3 M) based on the water cooler conjecture.
Price and Release Date
The main competitors of the Q5 would be Beemer X3, Volvo XC60, Lexus RX, Jaguar F-Pace, Mercy GLC, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Lincoln Corsair, Porsche Macan, and also Mazda CX-70 and also the CX-60. If nothing gets in the way, this third gen of Q5 would be coming in 2024 although some sources may suggest that it may come earlier, at the end of 2023.
