2024 Porsche Cayenne Pricing & Specs

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne is being prepared for the upcoming launch, and some of the prototypes have been spotted going through the testing stage. It’s safe to say that from many prototypes available, all seem good. The upgraded transformations still ‘captures’ the essence of the lineup, delivering updated freshness and good quality of the line.

The Updated Plan

Many of the auto enthusiasts and media have ‘tasted’ the refreshed Cayenne, which surprisingly came earlier than the normal lifecycle. The hybrid version would get the biggest refreshment and transformation. The interior is still covered, but it’s obvious that it would get more techs, including multiple displays like the Taycan.

In reality, most cars that have been tested and driven are more (or even less) than the finished products. They are considered close to the real ‘thing’ in terms of performance, materials, and specs. But usually, there are tons of things that happen before the launch date so auto enthusiasts won’t be able to take a test drive. This is the main reason why it’s super exciting that Porsche allows some certain people to test the wheel and see what’s going on behind the wheel. After all, driving the (early) prototypes can give you ideas of how the car would perform or deliver.

The Prototypes

The company created 5 models (for the Cayenne): a base Cayenne, 2 varieties of Cayenne S, e-Hybrid, and not-the-finished model Turbo GT. The S models come with new air suspension in one and steel springs in another. All of these prototypes are still heavily covered: the cloth mats for the interior and the camouflage for the exterior. But you can still see the (updated) climate controls and some screens quite clearly because they are visible.

On the prototypes, there are some visible design cues, such as new color options, new tire, and also new wheels. The entire design is basically the same as the current model, but it’s clearly getting updates. The rear side houses the most easily spotted changes with the dropped down license plate and tweaked lights.

Powertrain and Performance

All of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne variants would get power boost, covering these plans:

  • Cayenne would be coming with 350 hp and 369 Nm of torque
  • Cayenne S would be coming with 469 hp and 443 Nm of torque
  • Turbo GT would be coming with 651 hp and 627 Nm of torque
  • e-Hybrid would be coming with 464 hp total system and 479 Nm of torque

The biggest powertrain updates are happening in Cayenne S and also e-Hybrid models. The Cayenne S would no longer use the V6 twin turbo unit, changing it with bigger V8 twin turbo unit with 4.0 liter capacity. With 119 hp gap (between the Cayenne and the S), it gives the S some kind of punchy confidence.

More Electric Power

For the 2024 model, the e-Hybrid gets higher battery capacity and also punchier electric motor. The previous battery was 17.9 kWh, and the current one would be the 25.0 kWh. Porsche also claims that such arrangement would affect the powertrain, making the operation more efficient. As a result, the range on electric juice only has doubled up to 50 miles. The electric motor is also able to deliver 174 hp on its own – an increase from the previous 134 hp.

The e-Hybrid software isn’t completely ready for now, but the company states that the tuning is almost ready. The driving experience alone is nice and delightful with smooth braking and acceleration. The entire experience is seamlessly arranged to support smooth (and simple) transition between the mechanical and regenerative braking.

Conclusion

The Cayenne has always been known as this powerful and reliable SUV with elegant luxury. The 2024 Porsche Cayenne only highlights of how a high-rated SUV the vehicle is.
