Is there truly a 2024 Chevy Chevelle? It’s always exciting to bring back an iconic (and legendary) production to the modern world. Having a ride that can combine timeless retro appeal with modern technology is definitely breathtaking. The Chevelle has been known as this one of the legendary muscle ride in its ride, which unfortunately, has been gone for more than 4 decades. But it’s a good thing that Trans Am Worldwide is trying their best to revive this iconic ride. As a result, the 2024 model Chevelle would be coming back as the 70/SS with breathtaking combo of updated drivetrain, modern twists, and also state of the art suspension.
About the Retro Ride
Trans Am Worldwide, a US company, wants to pay tribute to the iconic Chevelle Super Sport. Although they realize the complication of the project (which requires them to work extra hard and extra meticulous), they are adamant to bring back the 70/SS. And their hard work has been paid off when the company manages to reveal their 2024 Chevy Chevelle.
This modern V8 monster version took 7 years in the making. The entry level is coming with V8 LT-1 unit with 6.2 liter capacity to deliver 450 hp, while the LS6/X 454 Bugatti Chiron version is able to deliver 1,500 hp. It would be paired up with rear wheel driving system and auto or manual gearbox. Moreover, the company plans on producing only 25 units, which will make it one of the rarest vehicles ever produced.
About Trans Am Worldwide Project
Trans Am Worldwide has been focusing on making Trans Ams. But they are wondering what their Trans Ams would look like if the Pontiac hadn’t been stopped. So, they decided that they are going to build the modern version of Chevelle from scratches. With the codename 70/SS, the company took inspiration from the 1970 original model while adding up modern features to the mix.
The company started out with the new Camaro (the sixth gen type) as the base. They also changed the exterior area completely, but they keep the windshield stay intact. Each of the body panel has been tweaked and reshaped to pay the homage to the Super Sport Chevelle 70. They didn’t hesitate to stretch the rear with new bumper, deck lid, and quarter panels. On the inside, however, the style remains Camaro. But for this 70/SS, the company used retro styled carpet and seats, while adding up the (70/SS) badge and (Hurst) cue ball knob as the final nice touch.
Powertrain and Performance
Since the Chevelle has been known for its quality performance, it’s only logical if this new model would be coming with punchy power. It’s a good thing that this new 70/SS doesn’t disappoint. According to the plan, there would be 3 powertrain options available. The base engine would be the LT1 unit with 450 hp which is the same arrangement offered in Camaro. If you want more power, go with the LT unit that can deliver 900 hp. But if you want to go all the way, go with the twin turbocharged LS6/X that can deliver 1,500 hp.
This ride would be coming with auto and also manual transmission, along with upgraded suspension. You can even choose the one having optional hardtop that can be removed if you want to get the coupe styling. There are 8 (heritage) colors offered, along with 10 modern pearl and metallic colors. If you don’t mind spending extra, feel free to choose your own custom hues.
Release Date and Price
The release date is still unknown. But the price range will likely start from around $150,000. We should know more about 2024 Chevy Chevelle once more information is available.
