The new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek will still remain as this fuel efficient, rugged, and affordable vehicle although it’s clear that it’s not meant for any offroad adventure. But then again, it has solid performance which is said even better than the Impreza hatch. For the 2024 model, the Crosstrek would be designed as the new gen with tweaked style. The Updated Plan
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek may seem similar to the 2023 model, but you can be sure that it has received a complete redesigned touchup to improve its quality and performance. There won’t be too much difference on the exterior part of this subcompact crossover, but some minor changes would improve the overall look.
The cabin would stay practical, functional, and spacious, with the possibilities of extra techs and features. A lot of people have predicted that Subaru may tweak the powertrain, but the company hasn’t said much about it, especially for the North American market. But rest assured that less head tossing can be expected as well as more comfort. Thanks to the EyeSight driver assistance technology that also makes use of the better camera modules, we should expect more promising outcome from the new Crosstrek.
Trim Levels and Price
In terms of trim levels and price, the Base model should start from around $25,000, followed by the Premium with a tag of $27,000. The next in line would be the Limited with a tag price of $32,000, and the Hybrid would be the highest trim level with $39,000 tag.
Powertrain and Performance
It seems that there would be different powertrain offer, depending on the markets. In Japan, the Crosstrek would also be coming with hybrid variant (with its four cylinder unit of 2.0 liter capacity that is paired up with an electric motor). This is called the e-Boxer. However, this hybrid variant doesn’t seem to make it to North American market.
A lot of people are hopeful that the new Crosstrek would be coming with similar powertrain like before. It means that there are 3 different powertrain options being available. The first would be the four cylinder unit with 2.0 liter capacity to generate 152 hp. The second one would be the same four cylinder unit with 2.5 liter capacity that can produce 182 hp. And the last one would be the plug in hybrid with 148 hp.
It seems that Subaru won’t be offering manual transmission as they focus more on CVT only. The standard driving system would be all wheel. There is no information now about other driving system option.
The Interior Cabin
The Crosstrek has been known for its cargo friendly and also roomy cabin. But it doesn’t mean that they won’t improve the modern design even further. They are planning on adding sound-deadening materials to make the cabin more comfortable and quiet. It would absorb noise and also vibrations effectively. You can have leather upholstery as an extra option, but most trim levels would be coming with cloth upholstery. The higher trim levels would even have patterned inserts complete with the silver stitching.
Pros and Cons
There are some of the positive traits about this Crosstrek. It is coming with all wheel driving system, and it’s designed for a (mild) offroad adventure. It is packed with many driver assist technologies, and there is a possibility of hybrid power.
However, it’s not a perfect model. When compared to the previous model, it offers less ground clearance. Moreover, the CVT is not really responsive, and it feels clunky. But this crossover has solid performance and good handle. We should know more about 2024 Subaru Crosstrek once it’s close to the launch date.
