It’s safe to say that Grand Highlander is just like the Highlander, but bigger. It’s unclear whether the vehicle would perfectly fitting into categories like luxury, features, or styles, but if you are already familiar with specs and features offered by the Highlander, you get the idea.
Because of the size and the space, the Grand Highlander is able to provide a lot of space for cargo and people. With such an elongated body (the vehicle would be coming with a spacious third row layout), you can surely expect a comfortable space without the fuss of being cramped too much.
For now, the company hasn’t revealed much about their new 2024 Grand Highlander, but they would introduce the vehicle during Chicago Auto Show. They promised that they would reveal more about this huge SUV during this event. Let’s simply wait and see until the debut, shall we?
The Updated Plan
As it was mentioned before, Toyota hasn’t said much about their new Grand Highlander. But from the teaser image, we can see the Hybrid Max badge, giving us ideas of what’s possibly offered by the new Grand Highlander. If what we have thought about is true, it means that the Grand Highlander would be sharing the same hybrid setup with all wheel and 340 hp from the Crown sedan.
This nameplate may be using the same Highlander name, but it’s going to be a completely new addition to the lineup, especially when it’s sale time.
Trim Levels and Price
There are some trim levels being offered for this Grand Highlander. The first one (and the base level) would be the L with an estimated price tag of $41,000. The next one in line would be the LE with a tag of $43,000. The following trim would be the XLE with a price tag of $45,000, followed by the XSE with a tag of $48,000. Another higher trim would be the Limited with a tag of $50,000. And the last one in line (and also the highest trim level) would be the Platinum with a tag of $54,000.
Again, there hasn’t been any information about the detailed specs and features of each trim level. The price ranges here aren’t from Toyota, but it’s the estimated guess from many auto enthusiasts. As you can see, the price is pretty high, starting off from at least $40,000-ish. Make sure you have the budgets if you are interested in buying one.
Powertrain and Performance
The regular Highlander is running on four cylinder turbocharged unit with 2.4 liter capacity as the standard. The information for the Grand Highlander isn’t available just yet. But from the teaser image, there is a clearly visible Hybrid Max emblem, which means that the Grand Highlander may be using the same hybrid setup from the sedan Crown (able to generate 340 hp). But we can’t really be sure until Toyota is officially releasing their statement.
Release Date
Chicago Auto Show would take place in February 2023, which means that we are shortly about to see the reveal of the new Highlander. Sales would take place afterwards; predicted to happen before the 2023 ends. Hopefully, the company would reveal more about the detailed specs and features of the 2024 Grand Highlander before the launch time.
