The new 2024 Ford Ranger has been spied without camo, making the view special. To see the midsize truck Ranger on the street may not be anything special, but since it’s the 2024 new model (which is said to be the next gen model debuting a year ago for the global market), it’s definitely something special. We get to see the model offered for North American market without any cover for the first time.
Exterior Design
From the looks of it, it seems that the new 2024 Ford Ranger gets some inspirations from the bigger brother, F-150. The front end style, for instance, is looking bolder and somewhat aggressive and menacing with the ‘borrowed’ looks from the F-150.
Moreover, it’s not really surprising when the new Ranger for North America looks exactly like the one for global markets. In fact, it’s quite a surprise that the North American model has the same appearance, considering that it has been fully covered. The cover always means that there would be a slight difference or a styling tweak that would make it different from the other lines, but it seems that Ford was able to fool us all these times.
The truck comes with a different-looking grille with smoother front fascia. If you take a closer look, there are several different things from the North American model with the global one: the backup camera, the sliding (rear) window, and the brake light.
The Updated Plan
According to the company’s plan, this midsize pickup truck would get redesigned work for the 2024, making it new and fresh. Aside from the exterior physical changes, there would also new arrangement in the powertrain. There is also a possibility of hybrid option too. For the Raptor trim level, there is a possibility of two body styles being offered: the crew cab (with four door) and the extended cab (with two rear half doors). Changes would also take place in the cabin with vertically oriented and big infotainment system, which is similar to the one found in the SUV, Edge.
Powertrain and Performance
It’s most likely that the 2024 Ford Ranger would be using the same powertrain as the current model. It means that the new 2024 model would be running on four cylinder turbocharged unit with 2.3 liter capacity. This kind of powertrain has been proven to be punchy enough to deliver stable and reliable performance. Ford claims that they are going to offer a V6 turbodiesel unit, but it’s unlikely coming to the North American market.
They are offering various transmissions, including manual 6 speed and also auto 10 speed. But it’s highly likely that the new Ranger would be coming with auto 10 speed as the standard feature for the American market.
Trim Levels and Price
The new Ranger would be coming in several trim levels. Price range is said to be as affordable as possible, starting with ‘only’ $30,000. The base model, the XL, would be set at around $30,000, followed by the XLT with $32,000. Afterwards, there would be the Sport with a tag of $34,000 and then the Lariat set at around $36,000. The last one, and the highest trim, would be the Wildtrack with a tag of $40,000
Interior Cabin
The interior cabin would get a touchup work too, making the cabin looks (and feels) modern. Expect honey comb (patterned) air vents, textured dash trim, and digital gauge display. Digital buttons and controls would be offered, along with new (and better) storage solutions. Infotainment display in 10.1 inch would be a standard feature, and you can update it to 12.1 inch. You can definitely entrust 2024 Ford Ranger for your driving comfort and safety.
