Toyota is determined to improve the design of its new 2024 Camry although more buyers are somewhat drawn to the SUVs and crossovers. It’s a good thing that Toyota remains loyal to its sedan line, which is crucial in building its brand and reputation to this point. Rumor has it that a next gen Camry would be coming as the 2024 model, and the ride is expected to come with a bang. We’ve seen the latest improvement and design in Prius, and hopefully, the same design language would be implemented to Camry.
The Updated Plan
Aside from the design updates, it’s also likely that new powertrains would be offered. Just like the improvements happening to engine and design, Camry is expected to have more safety features and more sophisticated features. With the new Honda Accord planned on coming (which is in its eleventh gen), this would be a good time for the Camry to make the introduction soon.
About Camry
The current Camry we know today is the 8th gen, which launched back then in 2018. Camry is considered one of the older versions in the category. This is quite normal that Camry would get the update and refresh for the 2024. Unfortunately, Toyota themselves haven’t confirmed this fact so we can’t really expect anything.
If the refresh is happening, then expect an updated look. There is a possibility that the 2024 Camry would be sharing designs with the new Prius and Crown. It means that Camry would get a new fascia with (razor thin) headlights, oversized (front) air intake, and also a slim grille. On the back, there is a possibility that the sedan would be coming with new bumper and revised taillights, which have slimmer looks when compared to the current models.
Interior Cabin and Technologies
Since the new Camry is expected to come with refreshed look, the midsize sedan would also have improved interior cabin. There is a possibility that the cabin would look similar to those of Toyota Crown. Expect updated dashboard so bigger touchscreen displays can be attached there. There is a simpler design to the overall style. There is always a possibility that the current y-shaped dash (which can be found in Camry today) may change for the 2024 model. But then again, it’s still unclear and still not confirmed.
What kinds of features and technologies to expect from the new Camry? It’s possible that it would get bigger central display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6 audio speakers, wireless charging pad, and satellite radio as the standard features.
Powertrain and Performance
Don’t expect the new Camry to have new powertrain. The current Camry is running on four cylinder unit with 2.5 liter capacity to deliver 206 hp. There is an optional pick with V6 unit with 3.5 liter capacity that generates 301 hp. Both of them would be coming with auto 8 speed transmission with front wheel driving system as the standard. All wheel driving system would be available, but not designed as the standard. From the 2023 model powertrain, you get the idea of what to expect.
Release Date and Price
Camry would have to compete against other promising midsize models, such as Kia K5, Subaru Legacy, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, and Honda Accord. If everything goes as planned, the new Camry would be making debut in the very beginning of 2024. The exact time and date is still unknown. Depending on the possible refresh work, the price may increase when compared to the current model. For now, the Camry has a starting price of $27,000 up to $37,500. We should wait for further updates about 2024 Camry once every detail is revealed.
