There have been some rendering images of 2024 BMW X2, showing how the compact SUV should look like for the upcoming production. Although the first gen of X2 has been discontinued, it doesn’t mean that Beemer has stopped thinking about making the second gen. in fact, the prototype has been spotted sometimes ago, showing off the vehicle with quad exhaust design. And then, there are several rendering images giving us better images of what the X2 would look like.
The Updated Plan
Beemer is serious about developing this X2, and it’s proven from the M Performance version prototype that has been spotted undergoing the testing stage. And from the rendering images, we can see that there are several significant exterior changes where the X2 would adopt a better and also sleeker profile. The roofline, for instance, would be more coupe like, inspired from X6 and also X4.
The rendering images showed the prototype in Green Cape York hue, with xLine trim level and 20 inches of wheels. The front area should look similar to the new X1 but it less ‘hatchback’ model and more SAC (Sport Activity Coupe), especially when compared to the old X2.
Design and Construction
It seems that the new 2024 BMW X2 would be bigger than the previous one. The X1 has been constructed with 177 inches in length (or around 4.5 meters) and big chances that such growth would be happening to X2 too. Beemer is also working on the iX2, which is a completely electric type, which mirrors the iX1 xDrive30. The latter had launched earlier in 2022.
From the rendering images, we can see that the X2 would come with some new elements, such as new (door) handles. This isn’t a small feat because the company wants to create a smoother profile for the side, so they need to tweak with the handles. Not to mention that they also focus on efficiency and performance.
Although there is no information about the cabin, expect the new X2 to remain plush, posh, and luxurious. More features to be expected as the standard, and safe driving assist technologies should also be expected.
Powertrain and Performance
Is there are information about the X2? Or whether there is a possibility of a hybrid or even electric power? Unfortunately, no. Up until now, there is only confirmation about the design, and the remaining details are still unknown. But it’s possible that the upcoming powertrain would include the upgraded version of B48 unit, which is said to deliver 315 hp.
